The remit of the parish Mission, Peace and Justice Group is:
To encourage the involvement of all church members in proclaiming the love of God made manifest in Jesus Christ; through prayer, study and action, with a particular focus on the relief of suffering and reduction of the causes of suffering throughout the world; by
- advising the PCC on the allocation of such funds as are budgeted,to be given to charities at home and overseas
- organising a programme of prayer and education, in order to engage parishionerswith the charities supported and with mission issues in general
- liaising with Churches Together in Mortlake and East Sheen (CTIMES)and other appropriate bodies on events and issues of common concern.
Our mission is guided by the five marks of mission agreed by the Anglican Communion:
The Mission of the Church is the mission of Christ.
- To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom.
- To teach, baptise and nurture new believers.
- To respond to human need by loving service.
- To seek to transform unjust structures of society.
- To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth.
